Before I got into real estate, I was an educator. I started out as a teacher, of course (junior high-middle school language arts and social studies), eventually principal, assistant superintendent, and superintendent. Due to job changes, I have had a lot of experience buying and selling homes.
Kim Mathis represented my wife and me in two purchases and one sale. We liked the way she handled the process, so when I decided to get my broker’s license, I contacted her. We had known each other a long time, though. She was my student when she was in the eighth grade. Now, she’s my boss and my role model!
I also have had a writing career. I write about dining, wine, travel, and history, with over a thousand articles, as well as two cookbooks, in addition to textbooks and academic work, published over about 40 years.
